Counselor
Sidney received his Bachelor’s Degree in English, with a minor in Black Studies from Northern Illinois University. He received his Master’s Degree in Social Work from Arizona State University. He developed his clinical experience while providing mental health services through a not-for-profit agency on the far south side of Chicago, where he currently serves as the clinical service manager. Sidney’s passion is in working closely with trauma survivors in BIPOC communities.
Sidney has been trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement, Desensitization, and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Narrative Therapy, and a variety of different treatments. In addition to his clinical background, he has served honorably in the United States Army, and been recognized in 2011 by the Etiquette Foundation of Illinois as their Humanitarian Award Winner for his efforts to make a difference in the lives of Chicago's youth and families.
